Note from the Publisher April 2nd 2019
Hey guys, just wanted to give everyone a brief update on the status of Dark Regions Press and where we're headed. First, I wanted to acknowledge the amazing success of Bird Box by Josh Malerman and how happy I am for Josh. The Netflix film starring Sandra Bullock was viewed by over 45 million Netflix accounts, the book reached the top ten on the New York Times Best Seller list.. it was all incredible to watch. The huge amount of buzz around the film made the Dark Regions Press publication of Bird Box Special Edition sell out very fast, and we thank everyone for supporting the project. Most everyone agrees our special edition of Bird Box turned out beautifully and we were honored to give Malerman fans something that they can cherish.
We have been busy catching up on some other projects that folks have been waiting for like Burnt Black Suns Deluxe Special Edition by Simon Strantzas, The Wide, Carnivorous Sky Deluxe Special Edition by John Langan, Richard Laymon's Funland Special Definitive Edition, The Red Brain: Great Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos Deluxe Hardcover and I AM THE ABYSS. Our team is in the midst of a shipping marathon and we greatly appreciate everyone's patience as we ship hundreds of preorders for these titles and others from the website.
Dark Regions Press has a lot of great traits and produces many exciting projects for the industry, but we know that we need to work on areas like project turnaround time. Some of our publications have taken a while to be delivered, and we're working on circumventing that in the future. The patience of our customers on some of these publications has been deeply appreciated, and we will always work hard to make sure it was worth the wait. Some issues are beyond our control like a printer/binder closing down, while others are very much within our control and we will continue to do what we can to make our processes more efficient to lead to quicker turnaround time for our customers. Thank you again to everyone for your patience.
This year we have some exciting announcements to make, including a new writing contest, a new book by William F. Nolan and more. Our mission at Dark Regions Press is to continue to expand the dark arts with exciting new projects and we will do so with your continued patronage. It really is the support of our direct customers that makes all of the difference for us... you are directly supporting our efforts when you place an order on darkregions.com and your support means the world.
