When Bird Box by Josh Malerman was published in 2014 it became a sensation and a hugely successful debut novel. With a dystopian world so frightening because of its many unknowns, the book struck a cord with readers and resulted in a significant success for HarperCollins.
Now Dark Regions Press will be publishing the first-ever special edition of Bird Box by Josh Malerman.
This special edition features original wraparound color dust jacket artwork by Vincent Chong, ten interior illustrations by Glenn Chadbourne, a new afterword and 9,000 word story entitled “Bobby Knocks” from author Josh Malerman and will be offered in two signed collectible formats.

Offered in two limited edition oversized hardcover formats featuring dust jackets, foil stampings and signature sheets signed by the author and artists. Bird Box Synopsis
Something is out there, something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse of it, and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.
Five years after it began, a handful of scattered survivors remains, including Malorie and her two young children. Living in an abandoned house near the river, she has dreamed of fleeing to a place where they might be safe. Now that the boy and girl are four, it’s time to go, but the journey ahead will be terrifying: twenty miles downriver in a rowboat–blindfolded–with nothing to rely on but her wits and the children’s trained ears. One wrong choice and they will die. Something is following them all the while, but is it man, animal, or monster?
Interweaving past and present, Bird Box is a snapshot of a world unraveled that will have you racing to the final page.
About the Author
Josh Malerman is the author of the novels Bird Box (ECCO/HarperCollins, 2014) and Black Mad Wheel (ECCO/HarperCollins, 2017) as well as the novellas Ghastle and Yule and A House at the Bottom of a Lake, a score of short stories such as “The Givens Sensor Board” (Lost Signals), “The Bigger Bedroom” (Chiral Mad 3), “Danny” (Scary Out There), and “I Can Taste the Blood” (I Can Taste the Blood.) He’s also the guitarist/songwriter for the rock band The High Strung whose song “The Luck You Got” is the theme song for Showtime’s hit series Shameless.
